In 2055, a group of extraordinary young people from around the world, the “Crystal Children”, come together to confront the consequences of climate change. Knowing that the fate of the planet rests in their hands, the bold protagonists arm themselves with a shared determination to coexist harmoniously with nature.
Witness the story of empowerment and optimism at the heart of Gen Last – the original musical written and directed by HKYAF founder Lindsey McAlister, and co-presented and co-produced by WestK and the Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation.
Gen Last, featuring a talented cast of young Hong Kong performers aged 7–25, premieres this November at Freespace.
Synopsis
It is the year 2055. On a bleak and desolate post-apocalyptic wasteland, a group of young people with extraordinary psychic powers are drawn together from different corners of the globe. They are the enigmatic Crystal Children.
Navigating the world alone, they confront the consequences of our failure to heed the warnings of climate change, hopeful that they can rebuild civilisation from the ashes.
Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes without intermission.
